Additional Information

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind journey that blends the very best of land and sea. Maldives Snorkelling Adventure is not your average island getaway - it's an immersive adventure that will take you far beyond the typical resort experience.

Starting and finishing in the nation’s capital city, Male, over the course of this incredible trip, you’ll snorkel, paddleboard, kayak, and swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean. We’ll explore remote islands and stunning atolls, offering a deeper connection to the Maldives than any land-based holiday ever could.

Living on your spacious and comfortable liveaboard home, you'll have the perfect access to some of the ocean’s most captivating creatures such as manta rays, turtles, reef fish, moray eels - even nurse and whale sharks.

Snorkellers can explore the depths, while any non-snorkellers can soak up the action with kayak adventures, paddleboarding, and unforgettable swimming encounters such as night visits from mantas and sunset dips with nurse sharks! And ever seen a cleaning station in action? Now’s your chance.

But it’s not all about the sea. We’ll take time out on those picturesque white-sand beaches and visit remote communities to experience the rich culture and natural beauty of the Maldives up close. While on land we’ll make the most of the idyllic surroundings. We’ll grab a drink or two, sit back, chill and behold the incredible sunsets while enjoying a BBQ.

And speaking of sunsets - you’ll also get the chance to cruise beneath those famous orange skies aboard a traditional Maldivian dhoni, soaking in the peace and magic of dusk from the open water. This trip will guarantee epic experiences and lifelong memories.

And perhaps the best part? It will probably cost you less than a typical resort stay. Ask yourself - which experience would you rather have?

Itinerary

Maldives Snorkelling Adventure will take you to some of the most amazing sights, sounds and sensations across the Male, Ari and Vaavu atolls.

We do not follow an exact itinerary (flexibility is key no matter the time of the year you visit) but we will ensure the best parts of this incredible region are yours for exploring.
Once onboard there will be a safety briefing, crew introduction, cabin allocation and boat orientation. Our boats moor in port on arrival day departing early next morning.

The snorkelling will enable you to experience some of the region’s most iconic sites as, following the route of our sister company Emperor Divers' ‘Best of Maldives’ itinerary, we will take you to some world-famous spots that are blessed with outstanding marine life. These sites will include places such as Fish Head, Kuda Rah, Alimatha and Kuda Giri.

For the land-based action we take the opportunity to visit a range of beautiful locations. Among the stunning spots we could go to are:

Dhigurah
In South Ari Atoll, Dhigurah is a long, picturesque island known for its tapering sandbank at the southern tip - perfect for scenic walks and peaceful seclusion. The island offers a glimpse into authentic Maldivian life with a small, close-knit village, colourful homes, and local cafés.

Dhangethi
Also in South Ari Atoll, Dhangethi blends cultural richness with community charm. The island’s museum displays traditional Maldivian tools and artifacts, while local craft shops sell unique hand-carved souvenirs. Visitors may catch a football match or festival in the central field, and the island's older coral-stone architecture adds to its character.

Fulidhoo
Fulidhoo in Vaavu Atoll is famed for its traditional Langiri and Bodu Beru drumming performances, especially during festivals or extended guest stays. The island is compact and easy to explore, with leafy paths and panoramic lagoon views.

Nagacha Sandbank
Nagacha is shaped by shifting tides, where seagrass and shells constantly reorganise its natural beauty, and it’s a fantastic site for stargazing on late-evening visits, offering an incredible escape under a dark, open sky.

Rasdhoo Sandbank
Linked to Rasdhoo Island, this sandbank offers a relaxing beach experience paired with easy access to a modest local village featuring a mosque, cafés, and fruit gardens. The island is slightly more conservative, so respectful dress is advised when away from the sandbank.

Ithafushi Sandbank
This exclusive sandbank offers luxury in a pristine setting, with comfy seating areas and lush flora. It's managed by the Waldorf Astoria, which also cultivates tropical gardens on nearby islands for culinary and spa use. Sustainability is a focus, with guided visits often including insights into coral restoration and marine conservation.

On our return to Male, we get to port at approximately 1pm and moor here overnight. There is the option of an afternoon land-visit to stretch your legs and escape the boat while in port. In the evening it’s time to pack up, settle any outstanding bills and get ready to depart for the airport at 7am the following morning.
