Egypt Hiking: The Less Travelled Path
Duration: 3-4 hoursTour Overview
Set out on a thrilling desert hike where breathtaking views, ancient mysteries, and unforgettable experiences await.
First, choose your adventure: begin at dawn to witness a spectacular sunrise lighting up the desert skies, or opt for an evening trek to catch the fiery glow of sunset cascading over the mountains – either way, a magical trip is guaranteed.
Your journey kicks off with a short drive to Wadi Shagra, where the real adventure begins. Trek along gravelly trails that gradually lead to rocky terrain and higher plateaus. As you climb, the desert unfolds around you – vast, silent, and utterly awe-inspiring. Towering peaks and sweeping vistas surround, offering a sense of peace and wonder that only the wilderness can provide.
After crossing quiet valleys, we pause at a stunning viewpoint overlooking Wadi Breika. But the real treasure lies just beyond… hidden on the rocks are ancient images etched by human hands over 8,000 years ago. Standing before these ancient artworks, you’ll feel a powerful connection to those who once walked these same paths.
The journey wraps up with a traditional Bedouin snack of tea and freshly baked Gabory bread, which is savoured as the landscape around you glows in the desert light.

FAQ
Is there a minimum/maximum number of people needed for the trip to take place?
There is no minimum number of participants but there is a 50% supplement if only one person is on the trip
Should I leave a minimum amount of time between diving and hiking?
So long as you are not overtired the answer to this is, no. We have consulted with DAN - the Divers Alert Network – who are at the forefront of dive medicine. Their advice is to wait 24 hours after a dive before going above 2,000ft/600m. There are no restrictions below this height which means our trips should cause no problems as the maximum climb is 1,300ft/400m.
Do I need a certain level of fitness to take part?
You should be moderately fit and be able to walk on uneven terrain without aid.
Will I be accompanied by a guide at all times?
Yes. Each tour is led by a group leader who will escort you through the entirety of the trip.
